Welfare Redefined
Wilson posted at 5:38 PM

I received this two mailers from the school Student Welfare Secretary and was rather sadden by how bad the situation is in SMU now. When did providing aircon for people staying in school till late and night or coming back to school on public holidays became a welfare? In the first place, nobody should be in school at these hours or on PH and providing aircon somewhat encourages that.

The pro-family policies implemented in company should be extended to schools as well as it will be quite sad if parents went home early from company thanks to pro-family policies to have a family dinner only to find their children still mugging in school. And I've heard of people who do not have meals at home since the beginning of the semester and probably that's knowledge rich but family poor. Thankfully I still manage to eat at home quite often and I really appreciate that, and hope SMU don't degrade further.

Fun Among Busy Times
Wilson posted at 11:34 PM

Statistics has shown that the frequency of blogging is inversely proportionate to how busy the blogger is. So from the frequency I'm blogging this year, it's not hard to see how busy I am this year. Most prob for the time being, I will have short and more frequent posts.

Despite the busy schedule, I manage to get a few enjoyable moments during my recess week. Firstly is the Rengit ride. After going for so many overseas ride, Rengit ride is totally no kick considering how flat it is and how short it is.

After leaving floorball, cycling is now my primary physical activity apart from jogging. Looking forward for 2 xiong rides to Desaru and Batam in December and getting my own bike hopefully by end of the month.

Internal shoot was another important part of my recess week as I was the events head for the event. I had to admit I did not do a good job and it was pure luck that I did not screw up the event. Oh well, it's only when something bad happen people start to point fingers so since in this case everything manage to carry on as planned I managed to get away with it. It was quite a good experience for me as this is the first time I was overall in charge for a event and source for door gifts and trophies. In the end I managed to get third and got a trophy which I purchased myself. That sounds lame but still, it's my first individual trophy even though it's an internal one.

It's the holidays
Wilson posted at 10:48 PM

Despite my long absence from blogging, I have never forgotten about this blog. Just that this semester is a bit different from the previous sems. Firstly I am taking 5 mods per sem instead of 4 the previous sems, not counting the extra course at NAFA. Next the amount of homework is at least 2-3times that I had the previous sems, as there's 4 hw and 1 reading to be done every week. Next, my other commitments did not decrease. Still active in archery and getting more active in biking and investing. But for now, I'll take a breather from all these stuff. After all, it's the HOLIDAYS!!!

Even though it's only a one week break, there's many things which I will like to do. For now, I have more or less planned for 4 days of programs, with 2 of the days allocated for projects. For the other 2 days, 1 will be for Rengit cycling trip and the other for the Internal Shoot, which I'm organising. Some other stuff which I will be doing includes:
1) Filing
2) Study for 2 mid-terms after the break
3) Tuition! Lorraine's exams coming soon, got to give my best shot.
4) Run! Otherwise stanchart will confirm chui. Hopefully can clock at least 1 half marathon this wk.
5) Cycle! Might be getting my own bike with Jamie, then I can go cycling more often with SMUX.
6) Clear my never ending NAFA assignments
7) Sleep and procrastinate - that's life.

Looking back, the past few weeks hasn't been that smooth sailing for me with more stuff to worry about, but what doesn't kills you makes you stronger. (I don't think the same applies for milk products though. Haha)
