Fear'Is Wheel
Wilson posted at 11:41 PM

A cycling event by SMUX which happened last Saturday. Since most of members in my group were from my SMUX camp group, there wasn't any problem breaking the ice and the rest of the group blended into the group nicely as well.

Team Han Zi+

A relatively easy ride from ECP to kallang to serangoon to yio chu kang to upper thompson and back, think only around 50-60km. However since this is the first time cycling long distance for most of the freshies, the slopes were rather xiong for some of them. But everyone made it.

Before the ride we had a mini birthday celebration at BK for MC as well as a belated one for Dylise and me. This was one of the most special celebration I have seen as we actually used video call to conferrence with Dylise as she could not meet us then and the video is up on my Facebook.

Halfway through the ride, MC's girlfriend had a surprise party for him at Serangoon Mac which was very sweet of her as somehow she manage to get Jamie and my telephone number to arrange for the party. We had another post party at a open field in Jalan Kayu, saboing MC with cable ties, toothpaste and deep heat. You can fill in the rest :P

The Surprise!!

Had games, a night walk, lots of food during the ride. With Jamie leading the group, I could well slack behind and enjoy the ride. Now I'm sort of tempted to buy a personal bike for myself so that I can bring it for the Rengit ride and many other rides to come.

Belated Bday with Wall-E
Wilson posted at 9:23 PM

One week after my actual birthday, went out for a belated birthday celebration with my usual gang of Wilson, ZX and SM. Sort of a tradition (since last year) for the birthday person to treat and this time round we went to Marina Square.

This time round we went to MOF for a feast of Japanese food at my expense. The food looks better than its taste but their deserts were still of high standard.

After that went to watch Wall-E, but since we still got a bit of time, and ZX brought his cam, we did some camwhoring before the show.

who's cuter?

About Wall-E, although it's a cartoon, I felt that it's more suitable for adults because of the environmental message that it is carrying. It is partially a romance film as well between two robots and simple love between robots can actually be more romantic than humans. The part where computers and robots made life so easy for humans and eventually have control over humans is also quite scary. Just a point to note, this movie is not suitable for people without patience as there's practically there's no single conversation in the first 15 mins of the show and though out the show there isn't much conversation as well since robots' vocabulary is quite limited.

An Unforgettable 22nd

Birthdays usually aren't very special days for me. Even though I like to remind people about my birthday, sadly the truth is I usually do not have any plans on the day itself. But for this year I will say that it's one of the more special and memorable birthdays for me, much thanks to the greenies.

The day started off with Peskan Sukan, the most important and major archery competition I had. Somehow, compared to other major competitions like Sembawang, SAFRA and NUS, this competition felt more relaxed for me.Probably my first time shooting a 30m/50m competition which I have to admit I wasn't prepared for it and there was absolutely no chance of winning, so it's sort of presure-less. So I just did my best under the bad weather and finger tab condition and underperformed as usual. Seems like I have no pride on that day and I did not feel bad or sad at all despite the poor results unlike previous competitions. It just wasn't a day to be sad and disappointed about the competition but nevertheless I was quite disappointed with something else...

So after the competition I chiong home to have a mini celebration with my parents, just a simple cake cutting. As for my wish, it's a secret....

Finally went to met up with the greenies at Timbre, our usual drinking place. As the birthday boy, I was naturally the target but got to say they were quite gentle with the drinks. Despite the fact that they added vodka shots into my beer while I went to the gents, the effects wasn't felt.

A special birthday cake by them too which was actually a box of donuts. Quite creative and smart of them too as it saves the trouble of cutting and distributing the cakes.

The most memorable part of the night was went the band was asking people up the stage and of course I was once again sabo-ed up the stage. And I managed to get Bin up as well to make a fool of ourselves and there was another random guy sabo-ed by his peers as well. Basically we just stood there and move a bit as the band sang "Pump It" Afterwards we were asked to dance with the mic stand (i.e. pole dance) in front of the full Timbre crowd which was so OMG!! Got to be sporting so I just did a normal one but Bin was more creative as her understanding of pole dance was the pole dancing around the human. That totally terrorised the band.

Once again thanks to all who remembered my birthday and your well wishes. And hopefully this will indeed be a good and memorable year for me.
