One down, One to Go
Wilson posted at 11:45 AM

In case you are wondering why this blog isn't updated, the reason is not that I'm too busy mugging that I got no time to update. It's just that I got nothing to blog. Mugging is seriously boring and mundane. I spent too much time napping that I can't sleep at night, watched a few shows online and even completed my PSP game. So I guess that instead of blogging all these boring stuffs, it's actually not to blog.

Just finished my TWC exam yesterday, which happened to be my first exam in three years. SMU has literally ruined my ability to write as it has been years since I wrote so much stuff. My hand were aching terribly halfway through the exams and I never wished so much that I can write with my left hand as well.

That aside, stepping out of the seminar room, I felt that I wasted my time studying for the exams. Time would be better spent going to the temple praying since I'm guessing the answers for all the MCQ and was crapping through the essay questions. One more thing, I really felt bad killing the trees and printing out my notes since they were of not much use after all. Nevertheless, I don't think I did too badly though, but just not up to the Wilson's standard.

Out: TWC which owned me

What is over is over, now I got to focus to own FA for revenge.

In: FA which I gonna own

No more lessons
Wilson posted at 10:46 PM

It's the end of week 13 and there will be no more seminar till next term. Happy that I need not endure any more boring lessons but quite sad that I will not be able to see some of my group members that regularly and most of them will not be in the same class as me next term. I shall dedicate this post to all my group members which make my very first term in SMU a smooth and memorable one.

FA:
Thanks to Byran, we manage to complete the presentation and the report with just a few meetings. Got to salute his hardwork and network, which enable me to slack for relatively taxing subject.

Low effort, High output

TWC:
This group of people is one which I don't mind doing all my projects in SMU with. Everyone is so efficient and contributing that I have no need to worry about the quality of our work at all. Of course not forgetting the fun we have and the time we spent in class playing games on facebook and miniclips.

Vibrant Colours
My Prof plays the keyboardHao Chi De Dong XiManhattan now. What's next?

LTB:
This group took away a few years of my life. All the last minute work are extremely life-consuming and luck will have to be the number one strength of the group for us to complete the module alive.

Leadership and Tree-Building

Management Comms:
Jamie's a joke but his ideas are so striking and creative. The hunger for grades in this group can indeed improve my performance for this weakest subject of mine.

No more Comms

Tired man's LTB presentation
Wilson posted at 12:36 PM

Just completed my LTB presentation and time for me to have a short breather. First time trying out something creative for presentation, by having the presentation in the form of a live soccer telecast. Having a commentary, people kicking soccer ball around and a skit to present our ideas were quite innovative, but unfortunately some were lost between fictional stuff and serious stuff. That’s something worth working about in the future.

I’m going to be selfish to claim the credit for coming out with the idea, of course will have to take the blame that information are not relayed effectively to the audience. Yet I’m quite satisfied with the outcome of the presentation, and I would say that we top in creativity though lacking in content among the three groups which presented today. With this I broke out of my convention, from a fail-safe type of presenter to come out with a totally new format of presenting.

Until now I still can’t believe that our group actually manage to come out with the format, the script, rehearse and present, everything within 48hrs. Wanted to say that my group is inefficient, but an inefficient group can’t possibly complete what we have done in 48hrs. Maybe we just lack sense of urgency, or rather we have no sense of urgency at all. All this while from the start until now we did everything last minute and luck has really brought us so far. I will still prefer the slow and steady method as all these last minute works are really life-consuming. Thinking of it, I guess team dynamics is most important, though I felt that my method of working does not match that of the group. At least we are better than one of the group who presented today. So super obvious that it’s a one-man show and the Singaporeans students can’t work with the foreign students at all. Putting them in charge of clicking the mouse and taking video of the presentation, that’s total discrimination man.

That’s enough said for today’s presentation. Academically I guess I did not excel as I would expect. Effectively lost my A (including A-) for my management comm as I flunked one of the important assignment, and I know my chance of getting an A(or A-) for LTB. So now got to focus on my FA and TWC, the examinable subjects which I can really mug hard. Hopefully I can start my preparation on Monday.

Financially wise I’m so screwed for the past week. The stocks went on an free fall and within 2 weeks 5% of my net worth is wiped off. Fortunately it’s just paper loss so with my research done I am still confident that my stocks will rebound as they have good fundamental.

Strange to find that those mini set-backs don’t actually affect me and I cannot be bothered with so many things. For now, I just want to sleep. Slept only two hours last night for the presentation and reflection and I’m so tired now. Nitez.

Miracles are Life-consuming
Wilson posted at 12:04 AM

Another hectic week has passed with the LTB execution and the TWC journal finally over. Managed to complete the 2500 words TWC journal in 3 days which is a miracle to me, considering I spent the first day out with the Greenies and the second day being the LTB execution and floorball training. Finally completed the report at 5am in the morning on Wednesday and manage to have one hour of sleep before going school. Miracle completed but it was seriously life consuming.

LTB execution was successful surprisingly with our last minute planning. The greatest strength of my group is luck and hope luck can carry through the report and presentation as well. My first time organising a community service project and it was quite an experience. But once is enough as it is equally life-consuming as my TWC journal. The boys enjoyed themselves and some of them really impressed me with their creativity and aspirations.

Leadership and Tree Building

After this life consuming week, I'm giving myself a break for the past 2 days. Sleeping a lot and my productivity plunged. Guess I better get back to work tomorrow otherwise next week may well be another life-consuming week. I dun want to die so young.
