Had a short weekend getaway at Genting with a few of the Greenies. Shall not go too much into detail about the trip since facebook tells most of the picture. Perhaps it's good to share some tips for those who are intending to go Genting in the near future.Choosing Your AgencyWith price-fixing among all the coach agencies, we randomly chose five-star as our tour agent, and here's a photo of the interior of the coach towards Genting.
Very spacious, with massage, gaming and video facilities. BUT, I will still not recommend Five Star firstly since the package does not include breakfast. Perhaps other agencies do not provide too but at least should inform the customers or give them an option to opt for breakfast. Next, the coach back to Singapore was of totally different standard. It's just a normal single deck bus without any facilities. Look at all their advertisements, I'm sure that is a form of misrepresentation. Read up a bit on HWZ forum, actually flight will be good alternative since the two-way flight from Singapore to KL is as low as only S$40, and the two way coach from KL to Genting is only RM40, so possibly it's cheaper to take a flight there compared to coach, and the journey time is much faster too.ThemeparkThe indoor themepark was so-so with so many attractions changed to signature attractions (i.e. not included in package) but the outdoor themepark was still awesome! But warning! NEVER NEVER NEVER take the ride called SPACE LABORATORY! It's the most wasted 5mins of my life I swear!

The Ride which I Still Dare Not TakeCasinoYeah! Finally my first trip to Casino. The Casino at the First World Hotel was quite small compared to the one at Highland Resort. A lot of games which I have never heard before let alone know how to play, such as carribean poker, pontoon, etc so we just stand by the side and watch. And after reading the instruction manual, I decided to stick to roulette and tai sai (big small) which is rather idiot proof and the chance is 50-50. Quite happy that they set aside a non-smoking area so that I can gamble in fresh air but sad to know that they no longer serve free sandwiches in the casino. lol. After calculating the stats, I sticked with the games with the least negative expected payoff (the house always win with negative expected payoff) and after about one and a half hour of hardwork, made a small winning of RM50. Quite a small amount but the casino trip was indeed an eye-opener especially the roulette table. After each round you look at the numberous chips sweep by the croupier into the box compared to the tiny amount they pay out, and it's amazing why people still insist to bet on those low-chance options after looking at their money being swept again and again. I've learnt to appreciate the beauty of stats after the genting trip.Final TipWhat else can it be but good company :)
