Sports Camp Preparation
Wilson posted at 10:12 PM

Third month of nua-ing in the holidays and it seems like the focus of my holidays is shifting every month. In May it was the MAS-ESS Essay (no news abt it =( ), in June it was ALL about archery and for this month of July, it's school camps, in particular the sports and SMUX camp.

Went for the sports mock camp the previous Saturday to try out some of the ice-breakers and stations which the programmes have come up with and some of them are rather interesting. Who will have thought of playing touch rugby with a whole raw chicken and the head and wings dangling. That sounds grossed but fun to watch and play. Unfortunately some of the games did not work out as expected and need to be scraped or modified extensively. With less than two weeks to go, it's quite worrying that the programmes may fail to come up with games which work and I may be quite disappointed because I enjoyed my last sports camp and joined as a faci this year to pass on the fun to the freshies.

Today went to help out to promote sports camp in school as it was matriculation. Looking at the blur and curious looks on the freshies made me feel old at times. Unleashed my limited persuasion skills and manage to persuade quite a number of freshies to sign up for the camp. Unfortunately by the time I ended my duty the sign up was rather tilted towards male freshies. Hopefully the next few batches will be able to persuade more female freshies to sign up and end up in my group.

Anyway the previous Saturday was ZX's birthday, so went to watch Hancock with the usual gang. Unfortunately most of the nice parts were in the trailer and at the front of the show. Towards the end the scriptwriter seems to run out of ideas and the plot was rather crappy towards the end. Yet there was a few touching parts, illustrating that being good is not good enough. You will still need people's concern and appreciation to feel good.
