Two months into the holidays and I've sort of went out of things to do or places to go. For the past week I'm either at home or at the range, and instead of being a stayhome emofreak, I decided to take this chance to upgrade myself, by reading books.
The first book I read is the Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham, the father of value-investing. This is the only non-textbook which I have bought for the past few years. I will strongly recommend this book and have learnt a lot from it, and have read it twice and even summarised the keypoints of the book, and now waiting for money to drop from the sky so that I can put the theory into practice.
Since the library is having a 'promotion' where members can borrow 8 books at a time, took some time to borrow some books. Borrowed a few books on layout and typography to prepare myself for the Visual Communication course. I suppose most of the students there more or less have some experience or talent in this field, so it won't harm getting more exposure. Despite finding some suff hard to understand (that's why i opt going for a course), I find the designs very fascinating and now can't wait for the course to start.
Finally, I borrowed a book on Adobe Photoshop CS3. After going through one third of the lessons, I am totally impressed with all the functions. So far it's mostly on photo-editing which I doubt I will put to use in the future, but it's always good to know more.
That's about it for my upgrading plan for June and that should keep me occupied. Anyway it's the Euro season now so finding things to do is not really an issue. Off-tracking, have been getting a lot of weird dreams nowadays, perhaps it's due to overusing of the brain that it's still active while I sleep. And tomorrow is NUS Open, wish me good luck (I really need a lot of it tml)!
